Operation P.R.I.D.E. is a non-profit organization dedicated to making Bowling Green - Warren County an attractive community in which to live by providing the framework for individuals, businesses, civic organizations, neighborhood groups,
We seek to accomplish this goal by providing a coordinated, comprehensive program designed to enhance the general appearance and sense of place of our city and county. The results of this program are an exceptional quality of life and community pride for present and future generations that will ensure our community’s ability to compete in the global market.
Corridor and Neighborhood Improvement and Care
The mission of this project is to improve the appearance of our 7 major entry corridors into this community and has been our number 1 priority from the beginning. Welcome signs and trees have been planted to enhance, develop and improve property values of both business and homeowners while providing safe and enjoyable scenery. Representatives from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Warren County, the City of Bowling Green, and Operation P.R.I.D.E. board members are working together to identify a lasting solution to sustain these projects and to expand from the corridors into the adjacent neighborhoods. The private sector has supported these efforts through the Partners With Pride program.
Dedicated to making Bowling Green - Warren County a better place to live by instilling in every citizen a sense of responsibility for our community's appearance. Our goal is to be an example for communities throughout the nation of what can be accomplished by pulling together the talent and energy of individual efforts is important, whether it be a major renovation project or something simple like picking up litter. The question is: can you plant, repair, improve and develop so that you, our children and grandchildren can enjoy? If so, start with your home and neighborhood and then help us.
How can you help? We need physical labor to clean-up, landscaping to be planted, special projects to be supervised, educational programs to be taught to children and financial assistance to maintain our current projects and expand beautification efforts across the community. Civic and social groups are also encouraged to get involved and sponsor community service projects or make financial contributions.
It is said that success of a person or organization is determined by their past accomplishments and their associations. Operation P.R.I.D.E. renovated the Historic L&N Depot, facilitated the downtown Riverfront and Cemetery Road projects, and established the Corridor Improvement Program.
Board of Directors & Awards
Our Board of Directors is a group of diverse individuals dedicated to making our community a better place to live and volunteer by working together to make this organization strong. They recognize a deserving residence and business on a monthly basis for the renovation of an existing property and started recognizing Neighborhood communities in 2009. They also sponsor an ongoing award for outstanding contributions of individuals to community service. “The Cherry Award” was named after Brigadier General (Retired) Dan Cherry, the first Executive Director of Operation P.R.I.D.E. This award is for Outstanding Contributions to community service.
