PARKS FACILITY MAINTAINER

Duties Of Position: Operates tractors, riding and hand mowers, and uses various hand tools in maintenance of grounds at municipal parks; mows, trims, and weeds grounds, trims trees and bushes. Performs maintenance and construction duties including: painting buildings and parks equipment; water line and plumbing repairs; general carpentry work; minor electrical and welding; and routine repair work to buildings, small equipment, and facilities. Mixes cement, pours and lays building foundations. Collects trash from city parks, cleans restrooms, and checks equipment for hazards and repairs.
Job Requirements: High School diploma (or GED) and one year of vocational school education in heavy equipment, with six months to one year of experience safely operating light and medium equipment (or related) required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess a valid driverâ€™s license.
Starting Salary: Pay Grade 110; $25,713 ($12.36/hour), plus full benefits package.Work Hours: Weekdays 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; occasional overtime and weekend work required.
