COMMUNITY CENTER SUPERVISOR

Duties Of Position: Plans, organizes, and directs recreational and athletic programs for participants. Supervises and directs assigned staff; handles employee concerns and problems. Implements scheduled activities; stimulates interest in activities, and maintains disciplinary control of participants. Serves as liaison to other community agencies seeking recreational assistance. Prepares and implements community center budget, HUD grant proposals and budgets, short and long-term goals and objectives, quarterly and monthly reports, and staff work schedules. Maintains Safety Compliance Workbook for the Bowling Green Community Center to ensure compliance with mandated safety programs. Recruits volunteers for the center operation and documents number of hours and volunteers rendered.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Recreational or Physical Education (or related field) preferred; with 3-5 years of experience in supervising various recreation programs and/or facilities (or related); or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position. Must possess a valid driver’s license; must possess, or have the ability to obtain (within one year of employment), and maintain a CDL. Certification in CPR, first aid, and certification as a leisure professional is required.
Starting Salary: Pay Grade 117; Starting Salary $36,181/yr. (17.39/ hr), plus a full benefit package with paid vacation and sick leave.Work Hours: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (when school is in session); 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (when school is out of session), weekend and occasional overtime expected.
